The Renovation

Our renovation, necessitated by Hurricane Charley, was a labor of love for Ron Garl, Kingsway’s original architect. A Florida native, Ron has become world renowned for his more than a dozen courses chosen to host PGA, Senior PGA, LPGA, Canadian and European Tour Events. His designs here in Florida are among the finest you can play.

Retained to make specific improvements to our course, the following projects were undertaken by Ron Garl Design

  • Expanded our many lakes by over five acres, improving both course quality and playability, also impacting water retention for irrigation and drainage.

  • Re-shaped and redesigned several fairway and greens, adding mounding and undulation.

  • Incorporated waste areas along with native grasses to refine aesthetics and playability.

  • Created berming and mounding for hole separation.

  • Added timber walls around four green and bunker complexes.

  • Replaced bunker sand to compliment many new bunkers and improve playability.

  • Replanted and relocated trees, added mounds, and wild flowers to augment visual aesthetics.

  • Redesigned teeing areas to incorporate additional yardage and angles, adding new tees from 5200 to over 7138 yards.
